Nature, Flora and the rich cultural – Taipei Fine Art Museum
"2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition" has incorporate cultural performance and art into the main focus of the exposition, TFAM too has been scheduled to be a part of the 14 main Pavilions showcasing a serious of competitions with the theme of " Nature and Flora". Many students and artists from all Taiwan have been invited to participate and take part of this special event.
Taipei Fine Arts Museum was established on the 24th of December 1983, starting its destiny to deliver and promote artistic information and exhibits art shows. TFAM's unique and independent elements together with the surrounding beautiful scenery of YuanShan, and Keelong River create the fusion of natural garden and architecture beauty.
TFAM’s lobby area is about 9 meters tall and utilized the traditional 3x3 grid structure. The outlook is noticeable and vibrant with glass window walls that enable nature sunlight to passes through. Thought out the day as the shadow changes according to the position of the sun, TFAM’s beauty and dynamic would be reflected and highlighted, giving the reason why TFAM is consider as the spring of cultural. The low radiation glass curtain block out most of the heat and allow sunlight to passes through the uneven steel poles create the unique and stableness of the entire building. TFAM emphasize the high rise celling of each floor and utilize these spaces for new exhibiting show rooms; larger show rooms are even equipped with the beautiful scenery of YuanShan, overpass, Arts Museum, Keelong River and the entire show ground of Taipei Flora Expo.

In order to highlight the blossom flora and the magnificent of Taipei Flora Expo ground, TFAM has schedule a special flora themed exhibit using the spirit and beauty of the expo as concept corresponding to the nature, environment, earth, green issues, cultural, colour and eastern countries elements of flora expo. During November, 2010 Walasse Ting’s retrospective exhibition will be hosting at the TFAM. Walasse Ting is an Jiangsu Province, China born well-known artist and poet who’s very active in Europe and America during the 50’s, Due to his association with CoBra Group’s artist P. Alechinsky and A. Jorn, these influences and interflow have reflect on his intense abstract style art works. In 1960 Walasse have immigrant to New York when “Pop Art” was at its’ prime time, this have strongly impact on Walasse as the style of his works contains both abstract and figurative elements. However, the style and methods display are still full of resplendent colours, freedom and power, especially within female figures and flora themed works where his emotions and artistic sense have been abundantly demonstrated thus granted him the title of “Flora Thief”.
The "2010 Taipei Art Award" that will be hosted in December takes acknowledgement of new talents that outshine their work in participating in the flora exposition art competitions and host a small exhibition show casing their works.
It is hoped that these art festivals will enrich the cultural and perspectives of all visitors adding texture and variety into "2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition".
