The pavilion of cultural used to be the home the famous elephant “Lin-Wang” who served with the Chinese Expeditionary Force during the Second Sino-Japanese War, a playground full of childhood memories. As history portrayed its trail in time, and earth murmured gently about the aged glory, these lines marks the splendour of Taipei’s grade one monument "Yuanshan Ruin", where the pavilion of cultural is situated. The pavilion of Cultural was rebuilt from the Min Nan and East Canton buildings from Taipei Children’s Recreation Centre, living the new from the old the pavilion of cultural has become the gate to the tranquillity beauty.

The phrase ”Art fest at the pear garden” was extended from the alias of opera performers “Children of the pear garden”, creating the image of a art fest at a magnificent pear garden where flower petals fall like rain and drift with wonders, conducting a performance of gifted talent and exhibit this blissful scenery. By combining and explore the complex relationship between traditional folk arts and aesthetics, using the inspiration from Tang Dynasty’s performance from the pear garden and construct “pear garden theatre”. Recruiting the best performances from area of opera, music, dance performance, traditional troupe performance, acrobatics and kong-fu, 684 mesmerizing performances where staged at the pavilion all year round. “Peony Goddess” and “Decent of The Flora God” are two performances especially tailored for the purpose of the exposition, showcasing Taiwan’s transcendent cultural charisma. “Peony Goddess” portrays the fantasy journey of a scholar analogy to the love and affection mankind comprised towards the divine beauty of mother earth. “Decent of The Flora God” combines traditional folk arts and aesthetics, illustrate the vision of the arrival of the Flora God. Recruitment programs for the jobless were conducted prior the exposition, were individual were professionally trained and cultivated for the performance, making these performances meaningful, culturally creative and full of energy.

“Flower Spirit Feast” is an exhibition of superlative craftsmanship in the form of fruit sculptures. Created by a group of accomplished artists, a simple taro or sweet potato could be transformed into blossoming flower or modern sculptured flora lightings. In this wondrous place, vegetables no longer just ease the hunger but bloom into the living exquisiteness. Flora plates that witness half century of past history, each bearing the hopes and memories of ancestor; these sculptures and ceramics will evoke images and memories of a bygone era.
“Fate Reborn” demonstrates how traditional arts and plant life are combined in a sensory journey of spiritual purification to create modern fashion accessories. “Flora Dreams” uses literature, art, and photography to showcase how the human race has been inspired by flora throughout history. At the Culture of Pavilion of Culture, visitors will embark on an amazing journey of beauty.
